Learn about over 200 years of history in less than a quarter mile! This fun, informative, and FREE 45-minute guided walking tour covers historic and artistic sites between the two significant collections of American historic interiors and decorative arts at Homewood and the BMA.

at The Patterson present
Gatsby's Great Garden Party

Return to the 1920s and the grandeur of the Gatsby era! This madcap evening of art and film features an outdoor screening of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic The Great Gatsby (Coppola, 1974) set against Evergreen's opulent Gilded Age mansion. Beer and popcorn will be available for purchase.

Come early and picnic on the lawn, play croquet, compete for "Best Dressed" in a 20's Summer Whites costume contest, explore the outdoor exhibition Sculpture at Evergreen 2008, and see some of Scott's first editions and Zelda's drawings in the museum.
 

Advance tickets available online or purchase at the door.
$8 general public; $5 children under 12; FREE Evergreen members and infants.

duration of the show, a simple walk around Evergreen becomes a wondrous, whimsical, mysterious, and surprising act of discovery—a veritable Enchanted Forest for art lovers."

    Watercolor Workshop
    Outdoor Landscapes with Lois Wolford


    Taught by local experienced watercolor artist Lois Wolford, this workshop will explore watercolor's renowned ability to convery the experience of light, as well as form and space, by drawing inspiration from the lush gardens and woodlands of Evergreen's 26-acre estate. Open to artists of all abilities; space in the class will be limited.

Peng Peng, piano
The 56th season of the Music at Evergreen concert series opens with 15-year-old Chinese piano prodigy Peng Peng, performing works by Brahms, Debussy, Peng Peng, and Kreisler/Rachmaninoff in the Bakst Theatre. At 2pm, Frances Klapthor of the BMA will discuss the Garrett Collection of Asian Art. A Meet-the-Artist reception follows the performance.
