"Ever Baltimore" Tour

NEW History-focused Tour at Evergreen

Built in 1858 on rural Charles Street Avenue in North Baltimore and later home to Baltimore's Garrett family of B&O Railroad fame from 1878–1952, Evergreen Museum & Library has witnessed a century and a half of history. "Ever Baltimore," a special history-focused museum tour, highlights events of the 19th and 20th centuries — the Civil War, industrial America and the rise of railroads, the women's suffrage movement, the World Wars, art patronage in the Gilded Age — through the lives and collections of this opulent mansion's former residents.

Available by appointment only. For information and to schedule, call (410) 516-0341.

"Ever Baltimore" was developed by Johns Hopkins senior and Evergreen Museum & Library intern Gillian Maguire.

Historic Homewood ArtWalk

Homewood Museum's ArtWalk continues this summer...

Before North Charles Street, Johns Hopkins University, and the Baltimore Museum of Art came along, there were 130 acres of rolling farmland and Charles Carroll, Jr.'s grand yet intimate country house, Homewood. Learn about how this fashionable country seat evolved into one of Baltimore's most vibrant areas on the Historic Homewood ArtWalk, a FREE walking tour of historic and artistic points of interest between Homewood and the Baltimore Museum of Art.

Download a self-guided ArtWalk brochure (.PDF) and companion podcast (MP3) NOW!

Brochures also are available at both Homewood and the BMA To schedule a guided ArtWalk or for more information, please call Homewood at (410) 516-5589.

Watch for scheduled guided ArtWalks in October, as part of Free Fall Baltimore!
