Homewood's supporters play a critical role in our ability to provide the high caliber of programs, exhibitions, and research for which the museum is so widely known.

Membership is a key component of this support, and we invite you to become a member today. Please visit the membership area of our website for additional information about the many benefits and privileges of Homewood membership.

Homewood seeks additional support to cover general operating costs, the upkeep the historic house, and the many exhibitions, concerts, educational programs that are offered year-round.

One project currently underway at Homewood is the restoration of the house's 58 windows. The below article, reprinted from the Fall '05 issue of "At Homewood," explains this critical need.

Sponsor a Window: Funds Needed to Complete Restoration

The recent restoration of Homewood's seven first floor windows and six basement level windows are a significant start to Homewood's ongoing restoration process, but represent just a fraction of the work that needs to be done. All of Homewood's 58 windows require restoration work and funds are needed to complete this effort.

The average price for the restoration work is $2,500 per window, and the work on the four Palladian windows on the hyphens could be as much as $5,000 each. Says Homewood curator, Catherine Rogers Arthur, "The project's cost is considerable, but is a prudent and necessary investment in the maintenance of this National Historic Landmark."

Loyal friends and supporters of Homewood are being asked to help with this effort by sponsoring the restoration of a window. "If you would like to visit and select a window that you wish have restored, I am happy to meet with you, give you a personal tour of Homewood, and discuss the options," says Arthur. Individuals, families, or businesses can be window sponsors and Homewood plans to recognize contributors with a private event to celebrate the project's completion and sponsor acknowledgment on each window.

If you would like to make a donation or receive more information about this effort, please contact Catherine Arthur at (410) 516-8647 or crarthur@jhu.edu.
